I plan on restoring and modify my 1994.

To start the car has 235k miles on it and the body is in rough shape. As far as I can tell the car needs mechanically a new transmission, suspension, axles, bushings and an engine rebuild.

Appearance wise the car needs rust through repaired on the rear quarter panels and drivers door, paint job, rims, and completely reupholstered interior.

What I want to do performance wise; rebuild the engine with forged internals, stand alone ecu, centrifuge supercharger, coilovers, aluminum radiator, body stiffening, and big brakes.

What I want to do visually; S14 front bumper, widebody kit,18×9.5 rims, wing spoiler, vented hood, 2 tone paint, clean engine bay, race seats, Macross themed wrap on dash, detachable steering wheel, and a decent speaker setup.

It'll be a slow process, but I'm pretty sure I can get most of it done. I already have my 5 speed, but it's not installed yet. The only thing I think has a chance of being crossed off the list is the supercharger. Mostly because of cost and lack of experience on my end.

Just look at Svxfiles setup. Really isn't too complicated, and he has pretty much the entire thing outlined, if you know where to look for it. ;)

This week I'm going to replace my drivers side rear and front axle. Then charge the AC. I was thinking about tackling the rust on the rear quarter panels.

On a n other topic, has anyone ever try to re-skin the doors with carbon fiber. I was thinking about buying a carbon fiber kit and doing my hood, but also wanted to use it for the wide body and door skins.

I'm hoping I can take off this guy's legs and turn him into the shift knob.

Started up my car today and I started to hear a rough noise coming from the engine bay. I'm hoping it was because the car was on jack stands. I can't afford the engine to go yet.

It is a lot to do, but I plan on taking my time. Main goal right now is to get it running right.

Still trying to get the axle off. I now have to resort to cutting it off. On other topics, I'm trying to figure out ways to make my car lighter without losing the true nature of the car. I had some ideas before, but my wife wants a project 2002 WRX Auto next year. I can't let my wife be faster.

Then you will you have to buy another car, because an SVX isn't competing with a WRX, period. You'll ruin the car to try and for the money and effort you'll spend trying, you could have just bought your own WRX. What axle can't you get off?

I love the way the SVX looks, so much more than the WRX. It's the rear drivers side, can't get enough leverage to get the last bolt off. Tried to split the nut, but nut was stripped and the splitter kept slipping off. Just bought a cutting wheel for my angle grinder, but that means I'll need a new bolt.

The nice thing about my wife's car is that she doesn't plan on making it that much faster. Mainly exhaust and intake, the rest will be cosmetic.

Took of the rear bumper and muffler. Still have to remove some more trim before I tackle the rust.

How much you plan on spending on her? Sounds like in the $12,000 bracket. Paint is $3,000 ( unless u can do it ) How is the inside? You want total engine rebuild. And going Iphigenia end parts. I was told by my body man that the entire interior has to be stripped to weld the rear quarter. Unless you plan on epoxy the panel in place. That is an option. It will be great when done. I have almost what your finished car will be like except for motor. Mine has 130,000 so no rebuild yet.
