They are custom build by TomsSVX for $500 big ones if I remember right.

Actually, I think I heard they were more than that but don't quote me on that.

easily, but it would be sort of stepping on Toms toes to do so unless you changed the design significantly enough to make it not a copy.

I don't appreciate undercutting or copying of designs which we work to achieve.

$500 regular price is hardly a large investment if you are serious about your vehicle, and producing actual performance gains.

Toe stepping does suck, but it is kinda pricey.. What is it like $60-$75 of pipe? I know most parts for these cars are expensive but im not sure why the support items should be.

The time spent hand-making each of these intakes warrants the price we ask for it.

I make parts for a car community also, and you can choose to make lots of money or make a little money. I personally just like knowing I have parts I made all over the world.

Something like this will work for any of you with a hacksaw and some ambition. You can probably find something or just go buy your own "2 into 1" pipe

Personally I think this looks pretty comparable.... And they use TIG welded and Polished Aluminum not mild steel piping thats been painted.

VANAGON SVX INTAKE MANIFOLD
This is Rocky Mountain Westy’s custom SVX air intake manifold system. This was engineered and designed to be a complete cold air intake kit for your Vanagon SVX conversion. This kit is a bolt in set up that requires no modification or drilling. We just finished re-designing this intake tube to allow even more room between the throttle body. Using more of a slip fit design, this tube will slide over the inlets of your throttle body allowing about another inch of clearance between the tube and your firewall. The motor sits a little closer to the firewall on a syncro, and this tube will allow a clean look with no rubbing issues. The intake tube is fabricated from 3" aluminum tubing, TIG welded, and then hand polished to give a shine that will have everyone who looks at it wonder, "What do you have in the back of that thing?". The hose that connects to the Air Flow Meter is 3 ply silicone hose that will last as long as your van will. This intake requires two tees to be placed on your vacuum line. The kit comes with all of the clamps and hardware to mount it, as well as a fully servicable cone filter, and two stainless steel tees for your vaccuum lines.

$399.00

I could argue all day in favor of our products, but the picture of this other item clearly shows that it is VERY different than our intake.
